ALEKSANDAR NIKOLIĆ VON HUNDENBERG

Opera Director

Guest director of Royal Opera House Covent Garden Aleksandar Nikolić, is one of the top ranking opera director in east europe. He is also the professor at Belgrade Dance Institute. He started his professional career as a pianist, costume and set designer. His selection of productions include: “Don Giovanni”, “Viva la mamma“ at National Theatre in Sarajevo; “Shakespeare: Sonnets”, “Melancholic Dreams of Count Sava Vladislavich”, “Nella note densa… In the dark night…”, and “La serva- padrona” at National Theatre in Belgrade; “Le conevinienze ed inconevinienze teatrali ” at Croatian National Theatre;“That Crazy Girl”, “The Last Dream of Milutin Milanković”,  “Pierrot lunaire” at  Opera and Theatre Madlenianum; “Cavalleria rusticana” at Serbian National Theatre; “Il barbiere di Siviglia" at Vrnjačka Banja Summer Festival; “Viva la mamma" and “Pyramus and Thisbe” at Israel Center of Exelence; “Carmina Burana” at Sava Center; “Blasphemy in the Valley  of St Florian” of (Balkan Dance Festival, Coproduction of Bosnia, Serbia, Slovenia; “The Mysterious Stranger” “The Studies of a Wild Gees” ”The Days of the Paris Commune”, “Éloge de l'Amour” “Tristan und Isolde” at Teatro Filodamatika; "Bergman: Autumn Sonata " at Yugoslav Drama Theater; “The Stolen Doll”, “Far Away From Home”, “Heroism and Humanism for Children”, “Grace”  at Cycle of musicals for children- chamber scene, National Theater, Belgrade), "Waiting for Godot" by Samuel Beckett, "Woyzeck" by Georg Büchner. Mr. Nikolić frequently gives masterclasses for opera singers in Israel and Serbia.


Since 2009. Aleksandar Nikolić has been actively engaged in charity work, organizing and directing donor concerts and charity galas featuring renowned Serbian opera singers and actors which raised significant funds for children and mothers affected with HIV.
